Tina:
The 1974 914 1.9 project.

Welcome to Tina's home page. As you might know, Tina is a 1974 Porsche 914 that I bought in 1998 from Mike Cooley in Tennesee. Before Tina I got into 914's by buying the Green Machine, a car that had a case of rust so bad the rear wheel had adjustable toe.
Fortunately Tina's rust is confined to the floorboards. When I got it, I bondoed up the holes, and put it through inspection. Last year I did a full rust review, and found that the floors were rusing again (since I didn't do the repair right the first time). A combo of Naval Jelly, sandpaper, 3 coats of En-Rust rust prevention stabilizer, and 4 coats of primer seem to have fixed the problem. Regardless, I recommend that all 914 people inspect their cars for rust every year.
Currently, Tina is getting ready for a 911 engine transplant in June. I am in the process of rebuilding a 1969 911E engine (2.0) in my shed, and expect to have this done for the 2001 East Coast Ramble. Rebuilding a 911 engine is not easy, but it is doable. More info can be found here.
