Network Architect
Network Architect responsible for Counterpanes Network Intelligence Laboratory. This position requires the design and validation of a multi-site; multi-vendor diagnostics network encompassing most of the modern security products on the market today. Performed residue analysis, designed penetration tests, and countermeasures for the test bed network and for clients. Technologies in use include Cisco PIX, Sidewinder, and CheckPoint-1 firewalls, Cisco ACL lists, and intrusion detection tools such as Snort for Linux and Net Ranger from Cisco.

Manager, Network Operations
Network Operations Manager heading a team responsible for server, desktop, LAN/WAN, and telephone operations in a multi-site, high performance environment. Report directly to IT Director, and take final responsibility for all aspects of network operations. Duties included the following:
Intranet:Implemented a state of the art network using Novell Netware 5.1 (15 servers), Windows NT (20 servers), NT Workstations and Macintoshes. Network topologies included fast Ethernet, FDDI, and Frame relay technology. Completed full documentation of design, operation, and procedures.
Network Security: Implemented a complex network security schema to protect the IEEE Computer Society from all forms of attack. Schema is designed to support our E-Commerce and fault tolerance of membership services and benefits.
Notes mail:Mail is critical to our operation, and the E-Mail system developed assures 24*7 operation. Multi-level SMTP servers, 3 types of remote dialup access, secure access to mail from remote Internet sites, etc.
Web Site:Providing interactive Web services on a 7*24 basis for 100,000+ technically literate members
E-Alias: Allows a member to automatically sign up for an Electronic E-mail alias. In it's first year of operation, over 40,000 members signed up for this service.
Conference registration:Implemented system to take credit cards, compute options, and charge users online. Service has been used for over 250 conferences in the past 6 years without error.
Digital Library:This system provides for the online access of all 20 of our Magazines, Transactions in SGML base format, and in both HTML and PDF format for fast searching and downloading. All articles are included and indexed, as is our conference proceedings and other items.
On-line subscription system:This application allows the member to sign up for immediate online access to the Society's periodicals. Currently over 40,000 members have used this service to add subscriptions. Most of these subscriptions are new revenue for the Computer Society based on subscription patterns from paper and Fax.
